Connecticut Resources

Connecticut Health Foundation: The Connecticut Health Foundation is dedicated to achieving health equity. We focus on improving health outcomes for people of color and assuring that all Connecticut residents have access to affordable and high-quality care. Through public policy, grantmaking, and leadership development, we work to make lasting changes that improve lives.

State Innovation Model (SIM): The Office of Health Strategy advances health innovation and strategy through the ongoing work of the State Innovation Model (SIM) program, a Center for Medicare & Medicaid Innovation (CMMI) initiative to support the development and implementation of state-led, multi-payer healthcare payment and service delivery model reforms that will promote healthier people, better care, and smarter spending in participating states.

Department of Mental Health & Addiction Services (DMHAS): The Connecticut Department of Mental Health and Addiction Services is a health care agency whose mission is to promote the overall health and wellness of persons with behavioral health needs through an integrated network of holistic, comprehensive, effective, and efficient services and supports that foster dignity, respect, and self-sufficiency in those we serve.

Health Equity Solutions: Health equity ensures that all people have access to optimal health despite their race, ethnicity, culture, or socioeconomic status. Without health equity, residents don’t have the opportunities to be, and stay, healthy. This can have a profound impact. For example, without health equity, children under perform in school and thus fail to reach their potential, businesses see rising healthcare costs and reduced productivity from their employees, and communities and neighborhoods weaken.

UConn School of Pharmacy: The University of Connecticut School of Pharmacy has distinguished itself by educating leaders in pharmacy and the pharmaceutical sciences for over 90 years. Based at a research intensive university, our students have the opportunity to be taught and mentored by faculty pursuing cutting-edge research in all arenas of the field. In addition to its highly regarded pharmacy program, the school boasts exceptional graduate programs in medicinal chemistry, pharmaceutics, and pharmacology/toxicology. We collaborate with practice partners to offer specialized residencies and fellowships in both disciplines.
